Yext's VP of Industry Insights, Duane Forrester, recently discussed the rise of artificial intelligence, SEO, and more on the Marketing Disenchanted Podcast.

With 20+ years of search and digital marketing experience, Duane has gained extensive skills in audience development, influencer marketing, social media, content, and SEO. He has held positions at Microsoft and Bing, where he helped run their Webmaster Tools program. Duane also ran operations at Bruce Clay, Inc — one of the oldest names in digital marketing.

During his conversation with Temi, Duane shared insight on his career path, including his work at his parent's small hospitality business growing up, and his shift from black hat SEO to joining Microsoft, and beyond. Duane and Temi also discussed the rise of the internet of things and closed-looped marketing automation, and it's potential to disrupt the evolution of digital.

"The AI that we're living with right now is pretty young," says Duane. "In terms of losing jobs, we're at least a decade away from seeing meaningful impact in those areas."

Rev and Temi also chatted about how many in the marketing industry struggle with comprehending the technology behind many digital marketing tactics, including PPC campaigns, SEO, and AI, as well as influencer marketing, and the rise of fake news.
