Last week, we welcomed hamburger expert, author, food photographer, and host of Travel Channel's Burger Land, George Motz, for a YextTalks. In discussion with our own Rev Ciancio (Director, Industry Insights), Motz detailed the history of hamburgers and his unique career path in food marketing.

Aside from being the founder of the "Smashula," a stainless steel spatula designed to craft hamburgers in a 'smash' style that goes back to the dawn of burger history, Motz is a freelance filmmaker and a Director of Photography who has worked on television commercials, feature films, music videos, documentaries, and more. As the founder of the Food Film Festival, and the author of Hamburger America, Motz is a celebrated name in the food space. Hamburger America, now in its third edition, guides readers through 200 of the greatest burger joints across the United States.

When asked what was most influential when publishing revised editions to his book, Motz noted that the cover was key in reaching an audience. "The cover is very important and the publisher's design that," said Motz. "This is probably the 16th burger image that I finally OK'ed, and at the end of the day, I need to trust the publisher."

Motz joined us during NY Burger Week, a celebration of trendsetting chefs and unique Burgers, sponsored by Yext.
